Family Week 2009

Dear Leaders in Strengthening Families and Child Advocates,

Please join the Oklahoma Family Resource Coalition (OFRC) and the Family Support and Prevention Service, with the Oklahoma State Department of Health, as members throughout our state celebrate "Oklahoma Family Week", November 22 - 28, 2009. Oklahoma Family Week is held in conjunction with National Family Week, directed and led by the Alliance for Children and Families (a national membership organization headquartered in Milwaukee, WI), and has been celebrated for almost four decades. In 2007, more than 450 National Family Week local events linked nonprofit organizations, businesses, government entities, education groups, and families in the United States. Family Week is held the same week as Thanksgiving every year... a time when families traditionally "connect" and celebrate with one another. It's also a great time to say thanks to individuals and organizations that help families thrive. Thus, with this in mind, "Connections Count... within the family, within the community!" is the theme for the National/Oklahoma Family Week 2008! Please join us by helping disseminate information across the state!

We would like to Invite Your Participation... Your agency's participation in Oklahoma Family Week is key to helping families and children connect to the opportunities, networks, support, and services that enable them to succeed. The "tool kit" provides ideas and fill-in-the-blank materials to make participation EASY. !
